The Worldwide auction of 1635 lots will be held in 3 sessions.
The 1st session on Friday, January 8th will contain 840 lots of Foreign, British, and U.S. singles. The session will be highlighted by early Austrian Issue cancel collections, Danish West Indies, Egypt, Great Britain, Cyprus, and scarce India with Convention and Feudatory States. It will continue with Autographs, followed by U.S. singles. Rare items will include mint #19 pos. 93L4, sound marginal copy PSAG (2015) cert.; mint o.g. #21 pos. 65R4, full o.g. PSAG (2015) cert.; #144 with full o.g. and sound PSAG (2015) cert., possibly the nicest sound copy ever offered with absolutely full gum, #356 mint pair PSE (2008) cert. Grade 95, only pair GRADEDTHIS HIGH; #449 used line pair Grade 75 PSAG (2015) cert.,only 3 of 10 pairs including this one confirmed recently as sound by certifying committees; used #482A PSAG (2015) cert.,one of 37 used singles known, followed by almost 90 handpainted Dorothy Knapp covers. Immediately following this will be the U.S. Airpost and "Back of the Book" issues highlighted by a 1930 Zeppelin set on individual FD cover. The session will end with the Confederacy.
The 2nd session of U.S. Possessions singles on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. will contain almost 400 lots highlighted by 80 lots of the Robert Anderson collection of Guam featuring postal history, and 65 lots of Hawaii featuring 2 Missionary items; 5¢ Scott #2, and 13¢ Scott #3 (both with PSAG certs.) It will be immediately followed by 220 lots of “Postage and Modern Collections”; grouping of “Back-of-the-Book” with a separate Revenue section; “Possessions”; “Postal History”; “First Day and Cachet Maker”; “Postcards”, and an “Ephemera” section.
The 3rd session on Sunday at 10.00 a.m. will conclude with 800 Worldwide collections. The session will consist of 255 Commonwealth country and general collections with Great Britain; Australia; Canada & Provinces; strong India & States selection with each State an individual lot; and New Zealand. The Foreign Country collections are highlighted by Austria; China; Egypt; France & Colonies; Germany; Japan; Mexico; amd a better Russia section. As always, the sale continues with 150 Worldwide collection lots incl. 50 lots of the “Connecticut Cinderellas” stock. It will be followed by Topical collections and a Postal History section. It ends with a Literature section and Currency.
