Australia; Tasmania, 1863, QV "Chalon Head", 6d Gray Violet, Imperf Used From Hobart Cover, SG #46, 1858 folded letter headed "Hobart Town/2nd Sept 1858", to Launceston with margins just clear to clear copy tied by BN '61', boxed arrival backstamp in red, Fine. According to Gibbons, 6d gray-violet wasn't issued until 1863, however, this is hardly gray or dull slate-gray and is much deeper and more vibrant than 1858 6d dull lilac (which tends to be gray).
